Intro On A College Paper That Got Me An “A”

The exploration of outer space has captivated the human mind for centuries. Ever since a sixteenth century man named Wan Hu strapped rockets to a chair in an attempt to reach space, man has sought to explore the stars for many purposes: from scientific advances to the sheer pride it brings those involved. Exploration is considered by many top astronomers as “an expansion of the realm of human experience, bringing people into new places, situations, and environments, expanding and redefining what it means to be human” (David Mindell). By this definition, proper space exploration can only be completed by manned missions. The exploration of space by robotic probes instead of humans would be much like masturbation; yes, the end result is the same, but it is much less satisfying.
